PORTER, Texas – Premium synthetic lubricant and performance chemical manufacturer Royal Purple has introduced its reformulated cooling system optimizer and conditioner, Purple Ice. The new formulation reduces engine coolant temperatures by as much as 25 degrees Fahrenheit and provides unmatched protection against harmful build-up and corrosion in the cooling systems of cars, trucks, motorcycles and powersports equipment, the company says.

Racing, towing and day-to-day driving can put an increased strain on a vehicle’s cooling system – a vital, yet often neglected system in a car that is prone to overheating. As a wetting agent, Purple Ice helps lower engine coolant temperatures by reducing the surface tension of the coolant. This allows a better interface between the engine’s coolant and hot metal components, which enables the coolant to better pull heat away from the engine, helping prevent overheating as well as the formation of damaging engine hot spots.

Purple Ice is especially beneficial for performance racing applications where the use of conventional glycol-based coolants is not permitted. When added to water, its glycol-free formulation provides racers with advanced corrosion protection, enhanced heat transfer capabilities and compliance with racetrack rules.

Purple Ice outperformed all competitive products compared in American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) certified tests for coolant system corrosion, anti-foam and de-foaming performance, and temperature reduction. The new proprietary formulation utilizes 100 percent organic acid technology (OAT), which helps form highly-resilient endogenous surface films on sensitive aluminum, copper and iron alloy surfaces, while also ensuring it won’t harm sensitive rubber seals and hoses.

Unlike other similar products, Purple Ice is 100 percent water soluble and leaves behind no film or build-up, the company says. Purple Ice is compatible with all OEM and stock replacement coolants, including extended-life antifreezes, and can also be used with straight water for maximum cooling benefit.

Royal Purple’s reformulated Purple Ice is available for purchase in 12-ounce bottles at retailers nationwide and online. For more information on Purple Ice or Royal Purple’s complete line of high-performance lubricants, filters and chemical products, please visit www.RoyalPurpleConsumer.com.
