Epicor Now Publishing 93 Percent Of New Automotive Aftermarket Part Numbers In Five Days Or Less

This represents more than a 50 percent year-over-year reduction in the time required to publish new-part data in the Epicor PartExpert electronic catalog.

epicor-ecat-waterpump-screenEpicor Software Corp., a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced that 93 percent of new-part product data received from more than 1,300 automotive aftermarket suppliers is being validated and published within five days — and nearly three-quarters of new-part data is published within two days — through its expanded “Net Adds” data publishing capability. This represents more than a 50 percent year-over-year reduction in the time required to publish new-part data in the Epicor PartExpert electronic catalog.

Introduced in late 2014, Net Adds enables Epicor to publish suppliers’ new part numbers and other time-sensitive file changes without re-validating entire data sets. Rapid availability of comprehensive, accurate new-part information helps aftermarket manufacturers, wholesalers, and service providers more effectively compete with original equipment parts and service.

“Our investment in Net Adds has dramatically streamlined the data publishing process while preserving the quality assessment capabilities that have made the Epicor eCatalog such an important growth tool for industry suppliers, wholesalers, and repair businesses,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive, analytics, and content, Epicor Software. “We will continue to compress the data publishing cycle in spite of the ever-growing volume of product information we receive each month, with a vision of ultimately offering near-real-time access to complete, fully validated content at every industry point of sale.”

The Net Adds feature is complemented by the free Epicor PartExpert Dynamic Updates application, which enables aftermarket parts distributors, service providers, and other eCatalog users to add the latest new-product data to their Epicor eCatalog files via automated weekly downloads.

The Epicor PartExpert eCatalog includes nearly 11 million parts representing approximately 7,800 product lines. The catalog is published in several formats to address the requirements of virtually every popular aftermarket business software platform, and its replacement parts data is embedded in automotive shop management platforms used each day by tens of thousands of service providers.
