Uni-Select announced that its president and chief executive officer, Brent Windom, has been formally appointed as a member of its board of directors, effective May 2.

Windom was appointed president and CEO on April 29.

Windom has more than 30 years of experience of “transformational change” in the automotive aftermarket, the company noted.

His previous experience includes the positions of president and COO of Uni‑Select USA; senior vice president, sales and marketing, for the North American operations of Uni-Select; senior vice president, sales and marketing, of Uni-Select USA; and vice president of marketing and merchandising for Middle Atlantic Warehouse Distributor.

“We are proud to have Brent joining the Uni-Select board of directors,” said Michelle Cormier, chair of the board. “As we progress with the strategic-alternatives review, Brent’s extensive operational and change-management experience will be highly valuable and will complement our board expertise.”

Windom is a member of the board of directors of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada. He also served on several industry boards in the United States, including the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation.

With the appointment of Windom, Uni‑Select now has 12 board members, 50% of whom have joined since May 2017 as part of the company’s ongoing board-renewal process.
