AUSTIN, Texas – Epicor Software Corp. announced that Carparts Distribution Center, a traditional three-step distributor of automotive replacement parts with facilities in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will implement the Epicor Vision business management solution across its two warehouses and 12 company-owned stores. Carparts is a member of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.

According to Carparts President Ted Cropper, the decision was based on Epicor Vision software’s powerful pricing, inventory control and other features designed to help distribution enterprises enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

“We are a customer-focused business that is committed to the success of our regional independent customers and traditional installers,” said Cropper. “We feel the capabilities of the Vision software are consistent with our goals for continued growth through exceptional customer service. The software gives us many new capabilities that I believe will help strengthen the value we bring to every customer.”

Epicor says the Vision software is a powerful next-generation solution for parts distributors that are targeting increased operational efficiency, stronger sales and margins and exceptional customer satisfaction. The software features customer relationship management (CRM) tools, a centralized database, advanced price management and inventory capabilities, “central services” functionality and integrated accounting. Its comprehensive “three-way match” feature can help distributors save hundreds of hours annually in manual labor associated with identifying and reconciling discrepancies between purchase orders, advance shipping notices, receivers and vendor invoices.

“The Epicor Vision solution opens the door to step-change improvements in operational efficiency and customer service,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive, retail and distribution solutions for Epicor. “The growing number of automotive parts distributors that have moved to Vision are finding that it gives them the true cross-enterprise visibility and control they need to enhance virtually every area of their businesses.”

Epicor Vision software can be integrated with Epicor Vista industry analytics, to offer parts demand intelligence that enables users to improve purchasing and stocking decisions based on local and regional demand for specific parts.
