MAUMEE, Ohio — Dana Holding Corp. has introduced the Spicer one-piece aluminum driveshaft for the Ford Mustang. The new Spicer driveshaft weighs 19 pounds, less than the OEM shaft, enabling quicker acceleration and improved driving performance, the company says. The Spicer one-piece design also eliminates the need for a center support bearing, Dana says.

“Mustang owners are very performance oriented,” said Bill Gryzenia, vice president and general manager, Dana Aftermarket. “We think they will appreciate the increase in response and acceleration they can get by simply bolting this new driveshaft into their cars.”

The Spicer one-piece aluminum driveshaft is an easy installation. It bolts directly to the original-equipment Mustang flange without any need for adapters. The driveshaft comes with a 3.5-inch diameter, and a 4-inch diameter driveshaft is also available for higher RPM applications.

A total of six part numbers are available to fit 2007-2014 Mustang V-8 models, including the GT500.

More information on the Spicer one-piece aluminum driveshafts is available at www.DanaUnleashed.com, or by calling Dana Customer Service at 1-800-621-8084.
