SHANGHAI – Dayco hosted a conference tailored specifically for aftermarket distributors in China. This was the first meeting of its kind since Dayco entered the Chinese market five years ago.
John Bohenick, Dayco CEO, called the conference, “a natural next step for Dayco as we continue to build on our strengths and growth objectives for China.”
“Our focus is to work together with our distributors to bring a broad range of products and kits, application intelligence and high service levels to our end customers’ needs to repair and maintain vehicles. Our success will power our customers’ world to keep moving.”
“This conference is important for Dayco China’s business as we will deliver a message of strategic change to our distributors,” said Charlie Qiu, president for Dayco China. “The growth of Dayco’s aftermarket business in China can be attributed to an aggressive expansion of its distribution network.”
The conference took place March 17-18 at the Haiyatt Garden Hotel Wujiang. The company said 58 people representing 41 of its 45 active distributors in China attended. The conference allowed business partners the opportunity to discuss unique ways to optimize the distribution network, stabilize pricing and improve customer service in order to be successful in the market.
“Dayco’s position in China is an important part of our growth strategy,” said Jonathon Levine, executive vice president and CFO for Dayco. “We have established a strong team in China as well as impressive technology, manufacturing and distribution capabilities and the strong relationship with our distributors in the automotive aftermarket will leverage that capability for the benefit of our customers, associates and other stakeholders.”
