TULSA, Okla. – Dayco Products LLC will unveil a new serpentine belt design during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, Jan. 26-29 at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. The DAYCO GOLD LABEL Asymmetrical Double-Sided Belt, originally engineered for use on original equipment applications, is built to meet specific demands on certain heavy-duty vehicles.

“Dayco approaches the market differently from most of its competition, believing that one belt construction will not perform best with all applications,” said Robert Christy, director of marketing for Dayco. “We will continue to develop new products, such as this belt, to meet the demands of our customers in the markets we serve.”

The Asymmetrical Double-Sided Belt features an EPDM construction and a reduced overall thickness on the top, or back side, of the belt as compared to a traditional double-sided belt. The reduced thickness allows for an increase in overall durability, while allowing the belt to operate effectively with both flat and grooved pulleys.

“Dayco is a leader in the heavy-duty original equipment business and supplies over 90 percent of the OEM belts and tensioners in North America,” said Christy. “This gives the Dayco Aftermarket Division the opportunity to offer these products in the heavy-duty aftermarket with a full understanding of the requirements and needs on these specialized drives.”
