Huf Receives International Red Dot Award For Product Design

The Red Dot Award is an internationally renowned product competition. A 40-member jury evaluated more than 4,800 entries from 53 countries.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Huf Group, a leading tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) manufacturer, was the recipient of the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for Product Design for its IntelliSens, an aftermarket universal TPMS sensor.

The Red Dot Award is an internationally renowned product competition. A 40-member jury evaluated more than 4,800 entries from 53 countries. Products are evaluated on criteria that is constantly adapted to the latest findings in formal, technical, manufacturing, societal, industrial and ecological requirements. These criteria provide a guiding framework, which is filled in individually by each juror. Winning products are displayed in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, and in the Red Dot design Museum in Singapore.

“We are truly honored to be the recipient of such an internationally renowned award,” said John Stratton, aftermarket sales manager, for Huf North America Automotive Parts Manufacturing Corp. “We strive to provide quality, innovative products which set the standard in the automotive industry.”

The IntelliSens covers nearly all standard TPMS sensors installed worldwide in various vehicle models and offers a number of benefits to automotive repair shops. A large number of protocols are stored in a Huf IntelliSens. They are configured at the point of installation, using a diagnostic device. The IntelliSens can be installed faster than any other sensor because the configuration process only takes a few seconds. IntelliSens is easily mounted on the valve with the ability to adjust the angle from 0 to 36 degrees, allowing it to fit more OE and aftermarket rim configurations.

Customers also benefit from having the IntelliSens universal sensor installed on their vehicles.  It offers a reliable warning about tire pressure loss, helps reduce tire wear due to incorrect tire pressure, reduces fuel consumption and because of its quick ease of installation, wait time in a repair shop is minimal.
