Meet The June/July ‘Guess The Car’ Champ: Tristen Gade

The correct answer for the June/July contest is the Buick Encore.

Counterman’s “Guess the Car” contest challenges our readers to solve an automotive riddle, for a chance to win $100. And each month, we receive hundreds of responses from aftermarket professionals trying to guess the model of the vehicle depicted.

The correct answer for the June/July contest is the Buick Encore. The winner is Tristen Gade, a parts professional at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Littleton, Colorado.

Now, let’s get to know the “Guess the Car” champion.

CM: How long have you been working in the auto parts business?

TG: Two years.

CM: What do you like most about your job?

TG: Meeting new people and helping them find the issue no matter what.

CM: What’s the strangest question a customer has asked you?

TG: If we sell a flux capacitor.

Editor’s note: O’Reilly Auto Parts list a “flux capacitor” – a fictitious auto part made famous in the “Back to the Future” movies – on its website.

CM: What’s the coolest car you’ve ever owned or worked on?

TG: A 1938 Cadillac LaSalle.

CM: Do you have any interesting hobbies? What do you do for fun?

CM: What’s your dream car?

TG: A 2000 Nissan skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec.
