NEW ORLEANS – The Automotive Distribution Network held its 13th annual national convention Feb. 26-March 1 at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. The program group expected a record-breaking crowd for this year’s event, which sold out weeks in advance.

Automotive Distribution Network President Mike Lambert talked about the growth of the Network during his opening remarks, along with Network Chairman Ken Maurer.

In anticipation of the sellout crowd, the Network signed several renowned seminar speakers to appear at the event to provide real-world training on topics ranging from vehicle diagnostics to social media to relationship-building with female customers. The Network offered 33 different seminar classes, and attendees were able to select five.

Six-time world champion driver Clay Millican made an appearance with the Parts Plus/Great Clips Top Fuel dragster, in addition to other motorsports stars appearing at the expo in New Orleans. The Network also provided special invitation-only tours of Millican’s hauler.

On Saturday night, the program group chose the winner of the 2014 “Win Clay Millican’s ’57 hot rod truck” promotion. Five finalists competed to see who would take it home. The winner got to choose between Millican’s hot-rod truck or a brand-new Chevy Colorado.

Stay tuned later this week, when the Network will announce the winners of its Vendor Category awards, including Vendor of the Year, which were presented Thursday evening during the convention.
