BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec — Uni-Select Inc. announced the opening of its new Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in Avon, Mass.

The new 104,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, with its new ERP software is designed to optimize efficiency and provide greater product range and availability for customers in New England and Eastern New York. Customers in the region will have access to more than 96,000 SKUs and more than $9 million worth of inventory, available on a next-day basis. Operations at the new facility are handled by a team of 70 people.

The opening is part of the company’s Action Plan unveiled July 11, 2013, aimed at improving performance and delivering higher service rates. With this new warehouse, the second in the space of just one year following last January’s opening of a new RDC in Washington, D.C., Uni-Select will consolidate the region’s distribution activities, improve its product availability and deliver a higher level of service to its customers in the region.

“We are once again very pleased to be able to offer our customers a new high-efficiency distribution center experience, and look forward to the many benefits it promises for clients, partners and employees alike,” said Brent Windom, president and Chief Operating Officer of Uni-Select USA Inc. “With the new Avon opening, our 2013 Action Plan continues, as does the increasing quality of our customer service, our efficiency, and the strengthening of our position as a partner of choice for our customers.”
