GASTONIA, N.C. – WIX Filters is celebrating National FFA Week by highlighting its foundation in and continued commitment to the agriculture industry. WIX’s legacy in agriculture spans 76 years, starting in 1939, when it began manufacturing oil filters specifically for farm tractor engines.

Today, WIX carries air, oil, fuel, transmission and hydraulic filters, as well as specialty products, for more than 37,000 applications within the agriculture market. These agriculture applications make up a large portion of WIX’s total off-highway offering.

“WIX has deep roots in agriculture,” said Donald Chilton, vice president of product management for WIX Filters. “We value our heritage with this ever-changing industry and we’re proud to continue building products that meet and exceed the needs of our customers.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to the industry, WIX is entering its 29th year of support for the National FFA Organization, a national youth program with more than 600,000 members. FFA is focused on making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential through agricultural education.

“I was changing filters on tractors before I had a license to drive,” said Jennifer Gibson, brand manager for WIX Filters. “FFA changed my life. It taught me about work ethic, respect and that nothing is too hard to handle. My experiences with this organization shaped who I am today, so it is an honor to be able to return the favor for future generations through WIX’s partnership and product offerings.”
