SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting Earns 11 Awards For Outstanding Commercial Production In 2012

Entertaining and informative content earns seven communicator awards and four Tellys.

HILLSBORO, N.H., — SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting is accustomed to focusing its lights on drivers and passengers around the world, but the New Hampshire-based company earned its own time in the spotlight as SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting has claimed 11 awards for its 2012 television and online commercials.

SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting won seven Communicator Awards for its work in 2012, including a Gold Award of Excellence in the Automotive category for its Avoid Crash commercial spot. The company also scored Silver Awards in both Commercials and Film for its Safety Hazards, Dashboard Lights and Safety Proofing pieces. In addition, SYLVANIA earned two Silver Tellys in the 2012 Automotive category, one for its Safety Hazards commercial and another for its Safety Proofing piece. The company also earned Bronze Tellys for Dashboard Lights and Avoid Crash.

The Communicator Awards are one of the leading international awards programs, recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications and winners are selected by the International Academy of Visual Arts. The Award of Excellence is the highest honor bestowed in the competition and is given to those entrants whose ability to communicate positions themselves as the best in the field.

The Telly Awards honor the best in film and video production, groundbreaking online video content and outstanding local, regional and online TV commercials. Entries are judged on a high standard of merit for distinction in creative work and winners are determined by the Silver Telly Council, top industry professionals that are past winners of Silver Tellys, the highest honor.

All of the OSRAM SYLVANIA ads were created by Garrand, a full-service communications agency with offices in Portland, ME. These award-winning commercials were seen nationally throughout late 2012 and early 2013 on networks such as ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox News, Speed, Discovery Science, the Outdoor Channel and the NFL Network.

“We developed these commercials to do more than simply sell products. Our team is committed to improving driver visibility and making the public aware of how they can help make the road safer for themselves, their loved ones, and everyone around them,” said Joe Verbanic, marketing manager, SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting. “With more than 13,000 entries submitted for the Telly Awards and 6,000 others submitted for the Communicator Awards, for us to be recognized with 11 awards is an achievement to be extremely proud of.”
