ALLENTOWN, Pa. — MAM Software has announced Vermeer Auto Parts (International Parts Store), a member of the Automotive Parts Associates and Society of Import Parts Specialists, has chosen to install Autopart Online business management software for the automotive aftermarket.

Headquartered in Groveport, Ohio, Vermeer Auto Parts has been the Midwest’s largest independent import auto parts distributor for more than 40 years, according to the company. With four locations throughout Ohio and an inventory of more than 100,000 car and other vehicle part numbers that represent more than 100 direct warehouse lines, Vermeer needed a way to better manage its inventory across multiple stores. This required a system that would ensure each store was adequately stocked without tying up cash flow in overstock.

With its product classification feature that will allow Vermeer to view, manage and react to which car parts are most profitable, Autopart Online immediately stood out as the best option, the company said. A remotely hosted business management solution designed specifically for distribution of automotive parts, Autopart Online uses virtual servers located in a state-of-the-art data center, eliminating the need for users to invest in server hardware and maintenance. “The option of a hosted solution gave us the peace of mind and ease of use, offering the reliability of cloud server uptime while reducing the amount of hardware for us to maintain,” said Laurie Price, Operations and sales manager of Vermeer Auto Parts.

Additionally, an integrated e-commerce solution and electronic catalog were major drivers in implementing new software. “Selling parts requires fast, easy access to electronic catalog that has the most current data available. Whether looking up the part at point of sale or providing customers online accessibility, we want the tools to improve the customer experience” said Price. “MAM Software offered that all-in-one solution.”

“We’re pleased that Vermeer Auto Parts chose us to provide their next generation software,” said Al Neal, vice president of MAM Software. “As a strong family business, they have been serving the import parts market in the Midwest for over 40 years. This decision shows that they are committed to continue that service well into the future. We are proud to be a part of that and we value the trust they have shown in us.”

Using modern Microsoft SQL technology, Autopart Online will enhance Vermeer’s business functionality, including point of sale, inventory management, forecasting, purchasing, reporting and a fully-integrated accounting package.
