Jim Griffith, AutoZone’s Head Of Store Operations, To Retire Next Year

Griffith joined AutoZone in 1987 as a part timer and has held several positions in store operations, including store manager, district manager, regional manager and vice president of stores.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – AutoZone announced that Jim Griffith, senior vice president of store operations, customer satisfaction, has made the decision to retire early next year.

Griffith joined AutoZone in 1987 as a part timer and has held several positions in store operations, including store manager, district manager, regional manager and vice president of stores. He spent seven years leading the store development team.

Since 2015, Griffith has led the store operations team as the senior vice president.

“I would like to thank Jim for his many contributions to our organization over the last 30 years,” said Bill Rhodes, chairman, president and chief executive officer of AutoZone. “While we will certainly miss Jim and his contributions, he has developed strong leaders who are prepared to lead this organization to continued success well into the future. We wish Jim and his wife, Becky, all the best in retirement and their future endeavors.”

Griffith called his 30 years with AutoZone “a fantastic experience.”

“AutoZone is truly a unique and incredible organization driven by our strong culture, exceptional leadership and the dedication and passion of AutoZoners who put customers first every day,” Griffith said. “I’m extremely proud of the results we’ve delivered and the progress we’ve made. I know the team is well-positioned for continued success in the future.”
