Perfect Equipment Brand Announces 80-Year Milestone

Perfect Equipment offers balancing solutions for passenger cars, light trucks and heavy-duty vehicles, in addition to tire valves, TPMS, tools and other wheel and tire accessories.

Perfect Equipment, a brand of WEGMANN automotive, is celebrating its 80th anniversary.

“Founded in 1939 by young engineer William P. Smissen, Perfect Equipment achieved market-category dominance in the United States within two decades by concentrating on perfecting one crucial product: high-quality wheel-balance weights,” the company said in a news release. “Since those first days in the automotive industry, the Perfect Equipment brand has become a wheel weight of choice for the country’s top retail tire centers.”

In 2005, WEGMANN automotive acquired the Perfect Equipment brand. Over the last decade, the Perfect Equipment brand has diversified its product line and expanded sales opportunities to more than 35 countries, securing brand recognition in the wheel-weight category on a worldwide scale, according to the company.

“It is with great pride that we announce Perfect Equipment’s 80th anniversary,” WEGMANN automotive USA President and CEO Jeff Waechter said. “It is rare to find a brand that has as longstanding a tradition of manufacturing excellence and customer loyalty as Perfect Equipment. Decades of dedicated employees that have provided attention to detail and unmatched customer service is why we are able to celebrate this eighty-year milestone. WEGMANN automotive is very proud of the Perfect Equipment brand and looks forward to continuing the traditions of success well into the future.”

Perfect Equipment offers balancing solutions for passenger cars, light trucks and heavy-duty vehicles, in addition to tire valves, TPMS, tools and other wheel and tire accessories.

Perfect Equipment’s North American headquarters in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, also serves as a manufacturing and distribution facility that produces millions of wheel weights per week and employs more than 250 full-time workers. The company has a West Coast distribution facility in Phoenix. Additional manufacturing facilities are located in Brazil, China and Germany.
