Common reasons that brake pads make noise is because they’re rusty or the brake pad is worn out.

In this “ChrisFix” video, Chris discovers that one of the vehicle’s inboard brake pads has been making a scraping noise because the brake-pad material separated from the backing plate. He explains that rust that crept underneath the pad material weakened the bond between the brake pad and the backing plate.   

To prevent this from happening again, he installs NRS brake pads that feature mechanically attached friction on a galvanized-steel backing plate.
