STAUNTON, Va. — Federated Auto Parts has honored Billy Scott of Martin-Scott Sales as its 2009 Federated Vendor Hall of Fame inductee. The award was presented to Scott April 16 during Federated’s annual meeting held in Phoenix, Ariz.
“Each year Federated selects an outstanding individual to be inducted into the Federated Vendor Hall of Fame. This is the first time we selected a manufacturers’ representative as our inductee,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “Billy Scott is very deserving of this honor. He understands and respects the needs of Federated and its members. He excels at developing relationships and programs that benefit both the Federated membership and the manufacturers he represents. We are very pleased to honor him as our 2009 Vendor Hall of Fame inductee.”
Scott began his career in the automotive aftermarket in 1966 working for an automotive parts jobber “driving a delivery truck and packing cores.” After working at a large warehouse distributor in Florida, he ventured into the sales agency business. In July 2003, he joined forces with Terry Martin to form Martin-Scott Sales. Having dedicated his 40-plus year career to the aftermarket, Scott is committed to serving manufacturers and customers like Federated Auto Parts.
The Federated Vendor Hall of Fame was established 25 years ago. The first award was presented to 2004 inductee John Collins of Moog.
