I have a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro. When the car is running, I can take the key out of the ignition. I can also take it out when I turn the key backwards. Is this a bad problem?

Your Camaro needs a new key lock cylinder assembly. After replacement, it will require security programming with a scan tool to make the computer recognize it and the new keys. I have a 2003 Chevy Blazer and the key will not come out of the ignition at times.

I have a 2003 Chevy Blazer and the key will not come out of the ignition at times. I can restart the car and put it in park again and sometimes that works. But most of the time, I have to leave the keys in the ignition and come back 10 to 15 minutes later and the keys will come right out.

I have a 1991 Lexus LS400 and I have had nothing but suspension problems since I bought it last year.

I have a 1991 Lexus LS400 and I have had nothing but suspension problems since I bought it last year. I replaced the two front air bags for shocks and now my ball bearings and control arms are falling apart is this normal and what else should I be looking for in the future to avoid any more problems?

I have a question about 100,000-mile platinum plugs. Are any of them for real?

I have a question about 100,000-mile platinum plugs. Are any of them for real? Will they last that long? Will it make a difference on what make and model vehicle I have? I have a 1995 Honda Accord 2.2.

I have a Mitsubishi 3000 GT (Base model). I just installed a new motor in it.

I have a Mitsubishi 3000 GT (Base model). I just installed a new motor in it. When I crank it up first thing in the morning time, I have to let it get to normal running temp., or otherwise it will hesitate if I just crank it up and go. Could this be an ignition control module or maybe a MAP
sensor?

I have an Acura RSX. Why is it hard on the motor to be run hard while its still cold?

First, cold lubricant (oil) viscosity may be too high to properly lubricate some parts, causing premature wear. Second, the injection system delivers more fuel for better driveability when cold, which can wash lubricants from the cylinder walls. Third, critical engine clearances change to their engineered optimal level when normal thermal expansion occurs. (that’s a GOOD

Is the balance shaft assembly necessary in a 2.4 GM ecotech? Since it is chain-driven it should have no effect on the crankshaft balance. Would there be any horsepower gain from eliminating the balance shafts and adding an external oil pump?

I-4 cylinder engines are hard to balance because of longer power pulse intervals and tend to cause vibration as they get larger in displacement. A 2.4 is considered large displacement. I-6 and V-8 engines have closer power pulses and tend to be much smoother; V-6 engines are somewhere between the others. Don’t remove the balance

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 with 34,000 miles. I keep up with the regular oil changes. At what point will it need a tune-up so I know for sure I am keeping my vehicle in tip-top condition?

Great job maintaining your car! GM recommends very long "tune-up" intervals of 100,000 miles or so. Don’t trust them! Most consumers find out they need spark plugs when the computer turns on the Check Engine light and ignition misfires occur. By then, other damage may have resulted like burnt (and expensive) ignition coils! It’s better

With more and more hybrids (Micro hybrids) coming to the market, what could be the added value of the aftermarket shops?

With more and more hybrids (Micro hybrids) coming to the market, what could be the added value of the aftermarket shops? I read the article about the Prius and how difficult it could be to get parts ordered for this. If this trend evolves wouldn’t it drive business towards OE shops? Is there a future for the aftermarket shops?
