These Snow And Ice Scrapers Do Something Your Scrapers Can’t

Kungs bills itself as the market leader in Northern Europe for winter car care accessories.

kungs-max-iceThe Finnish people know something about winter: in the northernmost regions of the country, it can get to -60 degrees F. That’s pretty cold.

Even so, they still venture out every day to go places. And a good ice scraper in a car or truck is essential.

The good people at Kungs recently sent me two of their ice scrapers to try out. So far in Ohio, we’ve not had much of a winter to speak of, and as a result, not much snow.

Bummer.

However, in my own informal, unscientific testing, these things seem incredibly sturdy. Normally, ice scrapers I’ve seen are made of plastic that can easily chip or break. Kungs are PVC-free and made of 100 percent polycarbonate, the company says.

The most obvious difference between Kungs and other scrapers other than their apparent durability, are the multifunctional, triple-edged scraping edges. This is the where the fun comes in, at least for me. The end of the Mid-Is Ice Scraper, for example, pulls out and can be rotated to another scraping edge, depending on the conditions. Some models have a notch for cleaning snow and ice from wiper blades.

Kungs bills itself as the market leader in Northern Europe for winter car care accessories and the products are designed, tested and manufactured in extreme Finnish weather conditions—including trials in sub-zero temperatures and intense UV radiation.
