Group Training Academy Adds New Training and Research Center

The center will bring together service and repair professionals for exclusive hands-on training sessions.

The Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) and Automotive Video Innovations (AVI) have established The Group Training Academy Training and Research Center at AVI headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida.

“The Group Training Academy Training and Research Center is a groundbreaking venture that will benefit our membership, their customers and the service professionals they employ,” said Larry Pavey, CEO of The Group. “The Group Training Academy is the premier training resource in the industry and the new Training and Research Center will complement our robust online training portal and other onsite training opportunities.”

The new Training and Research Center will bring together service and repair professionals for exclusive hands-on training sessions about new and innovative automotive technologies. Starting in summer 2023, training course topics will include hybrid/EV, heavy-duty airbrakes and light-duty diesel. Additional courses will be announced in the coming months.

The Training and Research Center also will serve as a venue for The Group to collaborate with service professionals to better understand their needs and learn what issues they face in today’s workplace.

“The establishment of the Training and Research Center takes AVI’s successful partnership with The Group Training Academy to a new level by offering hands on training workshops that keep professional technicians at the forefront of today’s automotive technology,” said Paul Louwers, CEO of AVI.
