Understanding the Role of Antifreeze/Coolant

One of the key functions is fighting corrosion in the engine.

Antifreeze or coolant has been around our industry for a very long time.

Ever since the engine manufacturers went to liquid cooling, there’s been a need for an additive.

This additive is used with water to increase the fluid’s ability to carry heat from the engine to the radiator where it can be dissipated into the atmosphere. That’s a lot for just a liquid to do. Actually, it’s used to do much, much more.
