LAS VEGAS, NV – Robert Bosch LLC, leading manufacturer of braking components for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket, has introduced an innovative towel-wrap interior packaging concept for its line of Bosch Blue Disc Brake Pads.

Based on extensive market research and customer feedback, the concept is intended to reduce the amount of interior packaging (while still protecting the pads) and to be more environmentally-friendly by using a material that technicians can repurpose to clean their hands after servicing a customer’s vehicle. The new Bosch Towel Wrap package is currently being rolled out as a running change.

“Our new Bosch Towel Wrap package replaces the traditional paper and shrink wrapping previously used in Bosch packaging with a heavy-duty cotton towel in a distinctive blue color similar to those used by technicians,” said Robert Backode, Director of Product Management, Bosch Brake Components LLC. “It offers the technician a quality branded product delivered in a package that makes it convenient and easy to use.”

Bosch Blue Disc Brake Pads target general repair shops that service a variety of makes and models. Perfectly suited to the needs of the ‘everyday driver’ who is looking for the best performance and value, Bosch Blue Disc Brake Pads provide comprehensive coverage for Domestic, Asian and European vehicles.

According to Backode, “At Bosch, our emphasis has always been on delivering quality and reliable performance, so we utilize the same rigorous testing and engineering procedures with Bosch Blue Brake Pads as we do with our premium braking line – to ensure optimal performance and excellent value.”

Features of Bosch Blue Disc Brake Pads include:

  • Advanced platform-specific friction formulas (NAO-Ceramic and Semi-Metallic) that are the best for a particular application
  • OE-style multi-layer shims for enhanced noise-dampening and quiet operation
  • Rust-preventive coating for improved durability
  • Slots and chamfers to match the OE design
  • Synthetic grease which helps reduce resistance on all contact points, is included in all applications
  • Top 200 part numbers are available with hardware kits to bring the system back to original operating condition.

Bosch Blue Brake Pads offer comprehensive coverage of domestic, Asian and European vehicles from 1956 through the current model year. With more than 1,100 SKUs, Bosch Brake Pads provide 99 percent coverage for vehicles on the road in North America.

“Bosch Blue Brake Pads help repair shop owners and technicians offer their customers options in making the right choice for their vehicle,” said Backode. “This is especially vital in North America where one out of every three vehicles on the road utilizes a Bosch braking component,” he said.
