CRP Automotive Earns Manufactured Again Certification for its AAE Steering System Components Brand

The certification denotes that CRP Industries’ remanufacturing facilities meet the same strict quality standards held by manufacturing facilities employing internationally recognized quality-management standards ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

The Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association’s (MERA) Manufactured Again Certification program has approved CRP Automotive as a participant for its AAE Steering System Components remanufacturing facility.

The certification denotes that CRP Industries’ remanufacturing facilities meet the same strict quality standards held by manufacturing facilities employing internationally recognized quality-management standards ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. To earn the certification, CRP was required to submit third-party evidence of conformance to these accepted quality standards.

“CRP is very honored to have received this certification,” said Scott Shea, CRP Industries chief operating officer. “It gives our customers the confidence of knowing that our remanufacturing facilities meet the same quality standards as new manufacturing facilities certified under equivalent standards, and that our remanufactured products are as good and, in some cases, better than new products.”

The Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association Manufactured Again Certification program recognizes remanufacturing, MRO and refurbishing facilities as manufacturing facilities, and it holds them to the same international quality standards. The certification program also promotes environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility.

MERA’s Manufactured Again Certification program began in 2017 and now includes more than 28 participating companies with 62 certified facilities worldwide.

“Remanufacturing is a core competency for CRP, and we have made a substantial investment to upgrade our AAE-brand remanufacturing capabilities to stay on the cutting edge of popular and fast growing product categories in the steering systems market,” Shea said. “We have installed new production equipment and adapted new technologies and techniques to improve both our automation and efficiency. We are very proud to be an approved participant in MERA’s industry-leading, Manufactured Again Certification program.”
