Hellwig Suspension Products Big Wig 2,800-pound bolt-on air springs for the 2017-2019 Super Duty trucks are designed to increase load capacity while offering a compliant ride when loaded or unloaded.

Hellwig Products has released its bolt-on air-spring suspension system for 2017-2019 Ford F-350 and F-450 dually pickup trucks. The Big Wig’s 5,600-pound springs allow Super Duty owners to tow and haul heavy loads with improved safety, stability and comfort by maintaining a level ride height, improving overall drive control, according to the company.

While these new trucks may be rated to tow and haul heavy loads, the weight of a heavy trailer or load in the bed will cause these trucks to ride low in the rear, impacting driver control and safety. Thanks to Hellwig, Super Duty owners will be able to properly level their vehicle and restore it to a proper ride height, not only improving the truck’s appearance but also its safety by transferring weight back on the front tires for better braking, steering and more even wear, according to the company.

The Big Wig air springs (part No. 6114) are available for the four-wheel-drive F-350 and F-450 Dually pickup trucks (replacing part No. 6112.) These kits feature a 2,800-pound air spring for each side and heavy-duty bulletproof bracket engineered to withstand the most demanding loads.

The Big Wig air springs are 3 inches larger in diameter and up to 3 inches taller than those used by many other manufacturers. These larger springs require less air pressure for the same load, resulting in a softer spring rate, a more comfortable ride and increased level load-carrying capacity up to the manufacturer’s GVWR.

Hellwig’s bolt-on air springs allow for quick adjustments in air pressure to match the load and can even be configured independently to level out uneven loads. When paired with the optional compressor and tank mount (Part No. 4893) the air pressure can be adjusted on the fly, allowing for quick load corrections without service station assistance. For hands-free level-load capabilities, use Hellwig’s auto-leveling compressor kit (part No. 4880).

The Hellwig Air Springs can be installed easily with simple hand tools and includes all necessary parts. Similarly, the optional compressors and tank mount include all necessary parts and hardware. Hellwig air springs come with a limited lifetime warranty.
