Generation 3 wheel hubs integrate two flanges, with one serving as the wheel hub, and the other securing the bearing unit to the suspension. That makes life a lot easier for repair shops, as the wheel bearing simply has to be screwed to the steering knuckle for assembly.
Gen 3 wheel bearings can be a tapered or ball design, and they can be used for both driven and non-driven wheel applications.
