Prestolite Electric Earns Best New Product Recognition From GPC

GPC AP acknowledged that with its light weight and high torque, the M128 is a game changer in heavy-duty starter design.

Prestolite Electric recently received the Best New Product distinction from the Genuine Parts Company (GPC) Asia Pacific organization for the company’s PowerPro Extreme 10 starter, commonly known as the “M128” motor.

GPC AP representatives acknowledged that with its light weight and high torque, the M128 is a game changer in heavy-duty starter design. Customers now can change these units on many common applications without a two-man lift, and market uptake has been very positive, according to the company.

As a leading global supplier of high-tech, high-quality rotating electric products, Prestolite Electric manufacturers a variety of 100% new premium starters and alternators that are available to original equipment manufacturers and distributed to the aftermarket around the world, Prestolite Electric noted.

“We take great pride in engineering and manufacturing starter motors that absolutely thrive in even the most extreme environments and applications, and we’re excited to have earned this award from GPC Asia Pacific for our popular M128 starter,” said Prestolite Electric Vice President of Sales for North America, South America and Australia Nick Laenen.

PowerPro Extreme 24V starters are engineered to provide starting power for up to 40-liter engines and include an entire package of highly engineered features to help reduce operating and maintenance costs and increase vehicle uptime, including a high-torque, high-power design, planetary gear reduction, rotatable flanges, soft start relays and more, according to Prestolite Electric.

Coverage includes Case, Caterpillar, Cummins, Hitachi, John Deere, Komatsu and MTU. The starters are ideal for extreme-use applications, heavy equipment, mining and more.
