A Simple Solution to Prevent LSPI in Turbocharged Engines

LSPI is one of the most common problems found in today’s turbocharged GDI engines.

If your customer has a turbocharged engine that’s “knocking,” it could be LSPI.

LSPI is low-speed pre-ignition, also known as low-speed engine knock. It’s one of the most common problems found in today’s turbocharged GDI engines.

It typically occurs in low-speed/high-load driving conditions – for example, driving slowly and then rapidly accelerating, like you would when merging onto a freeway.

Research suggests that components of the motor oil mixed with fuel in the combustion chamber prematurely ignites the fuel before the spark plug fires. The result is an uncontrolled combustion that hammers down on the piston with massive cylinder-pressure spikes – causing severe and often catastrophic damage.

Lubegard Engine Oil Protectant for turbocharged engines is specifically formulated to reduce and prevent LSPI and protect engines and engine parts from constant knocks.

Sway Bars and Linkages

The basic operation of a sway bar is quite simple.

Sway Bars and Linkages

Sway bars, anti-sway bars, roll bars, anti-roll bars and stabilizer bars are all the same thing, and it’s generally understood they improve handling, but how?

Any time a vehicle is turning, forces related to the laws of physics cause the body to roll, sway or tip away from the turn. When this happens, the weight shift to the outside, in turn compresses the suspension on the outside, resulting in lift and a loss of traction on the inside, which leads to poor handling and potentially the loss of control.
