Arnold Motor To Open DC, Retail Store In Iowa City

Iowa City will be home to the 67th location for the company.

Arnold Motor Supply, a Midwest-based automotive parts chain, is set to open its next facility in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Arnold Motor Supply store will be located at 1213 S. Gilbert Court, which was most recently occupied by the Crowded Closet Thrift Shop. The 21,847-square-foot building will have dedicated retail space, where customers can shop anything from motor oil, brake pads and automotive paint to those harder-to-find specialty parts.

“If you need it, we have or can find it,” said Mike Molle, VP of store operations at Arnold Motor Supply. “Our stores carry a wide selection of automotive parts and supplies, but we are also your go-to for those harder-to-find parts for older vehicles.”

Expanding into Iowa City always has been a part of the plan for 93-year-old Arnold Motor Supply, the company noted. Arnold Motor Supply has several stores in the Southeast Iowa region and the Iowa City location will serve as the central hub for midday deliveries between the stores and shared inventory.

“It’s ultimately about getting the parts into the hands of our customers so they can get the job done,” Molle said. “This expansion is the linchpin to making that happen.”

Iowa City will be home to the 67th location for the company. The opening is planned for September. Visit arnoldmotorsupply.com or @TheArnoldMotorSupply on Facebook to follow the remodeling progress and for updates on the grand opening.
