NORTON, Mass. Autopart International Inc. announced it has acquired all the assets of Hempstead, N.Y.-based Steinway Auto Parts Inc.
Steinway has provided automotive parts to the commercial market for more than 40 years. Like Autopart International, Steinway focuses on delivering high quality parts and service to the professional technician, the company said. Steinway services customers from six locations in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island. The addition of these stores will bring the Autopart International store count to 218, up from 197 at the beginning of 2012.
As a long-term customer of Autopart International’s National Sales Division, Steinway already distributes some Autopart International product lines to their customers.
“Steinway’s commitment to delivering quality parts and professional service is in perfect alignment with our value proposition of premium parts and expert service. Culturally, the Steinway organization puts a high value on people and relationships, making this a great fit for us,” said Jim Durkin, president of Autopart International. “Frank Festa, owner of Steinway, will continue to lead the team in this market and will be responsible for overseeing our expansion there. It is a great pleasure to welcome Frank, Steinway’s experienced team and their valued customers to the Autopart International family."
“We are really pleased to join the Autopart International team,” Festa said. “Steinway has been very successful as a private company serving the commercial aftermarket. We will now have the resources as part of Autopart International to invest in additional inventory and provide even greater service to our customers."
