BETHESDA, Md. The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), in partnership with the University of the Aftermarket, will present "The Aftermarket’s E-tailing Challenges and Opportunities," an exclusive Executive Briefing from 3:45 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. The briefing, sponsored by Tenneco and produced by the University of the Aftermarket for AWDA, will kick off AWDA’s 2012 Business & Education Conference at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
Anson Tse, head of eBay Motors’ Parts and Accessories (P&A) operations, will keynote the session, providing a detailed look at the demographics of online buyers. He will also discuss eBay’s perspective on future opportunities for traditional parts sellers engaged in online commerce.
“Historically, the briefing had been held on Sunday during the AWDA conference, but this year, the date of the briefing was moved to Saturday to accommodate additional one-on-one meeting slots, and to provide top-level executives with an education and networking opportunity when they arrive in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon,” said AWDA chairman Bill Maggs, National Pronto Association.
eBay Motors is the Internet’s largest marketplace for buying and selling all things automotive. Tse, a member of the eBay Motors team for the past five years, is responsible for driving strategy for eBay Motors’ P&A channel, which generated a gross merchandise volume of $1.8 billion in the first quarter of 2012. The eBay Motors site features more than 24.2 million available parts and accessories at any given time.
Registration is free for all AWDA conference registrants, and $50 for all other aftermarket professionals. Seminar attendees will receive 0.2 continuing education units (CEUs) toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificates from the University of the Aftermarket.
