Federated Inducts Bill Collins of SMP Into Vendor Hall of Fame

STAUNTON, Va. – Federated Auto Parts has recognized Bill Collins of Standard Motor Products (SMP) as its 2010 Federated Vendor Hall of Fame inductee. The award was presented by Bo Fisher, chairman of Federated Auto Parts, during Federated’s annual meeting held recently in Orlando, Fla.

From left to right, Bo Fisher and Bill Collins.“A lot of people say they are going to do something but don’t always follow through. Bill Collins stands out because he follows up his words with action. When Bill says he is going to do something, it gets done,” said Fisher. “Our members have great respect for Bill and his induction into the Federated Vendor Hall of Fame is a testament to his value to our membership. We want to congratulate Bill and thank him for working so hard to make the Federated-SMP partnership the great success it is.”

Collins began his career with SMP in 1988 as a territory sales manager based in Eau Claire, Wis. In 1994, he began covering the Minneapolis area, calling on all the major warehouses located in the Twin Cities area. In 1997, Collins was promoted to zone sales manager and in 2004, he was promoted again to a sales and marketing coordinator position. In that role, he began to work with Federated. SMP has honored Collins with many sales awards over the years, including a Western Region Territory Sales Manager of the Year award, three Territory Sales Manager of the Year awards and three Zone Sales Manager of the Year awards.
