STAUNTON, Va. Longtime Federated member Motown Automotive has opened a new, 115,000-square-foot distribution center in Farmington Hills, Mich.
In addition to the distribution center, the new facility will also house the company’s corporate offices and will be the home base for 50 of the company’s 200 employees, according to Thomas Litzinger, director of sales and marketing for Motown Automotive.
“This new building will allow us the space to stock new lines, broaden and deepen current product lines and take advantage of buying product in larger quantities, which will help improve our cost structure,” said Litzinger. “The new facility will also give us the ability to open and serve additional locations in the future.”
Motown Automotive is one of the leading full-line undercar and underhood auto parts warehouses in southern Michigan, with more than 50 years of experience in the automotive marketplace. Family owned and operated,
Motown has 12 locations in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Plymouth, Southfield, Sterling Heights, Taylor, Troy, Waterford and two locations in Farmington Hills.
“We have many events planned for the spring of 2011 to celebrate the opening our new facility, including an open house, training seminars and customer appreciation events,” said Litzinger. “Our new distribution center will be a great asset to our customers and we are looking forward to helping them
improve and grow their businesses.”
