New VDO ALAS II Adjustable Fuel Senders Garner Innovations Award At 2012 Hot Rod & Restoration Show

More than 70 products were submitted in the Hot Rod & Restoration Trade Show's New Product Showcase and judged by a panel of shop owners and safety experts for awards consideration.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The new VDO ALAS II Adjustable Length Fuel Senders from Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket have received the 2012 Award for Innovation from Hot Rod & Restoration Trade Show, which was recently held in Indianapolis, Ind. The new fuel senders were cited in the “Engine Components” category, one of seven categories that made up the annual competition.

VDO ALAS II Adjustable Fuel Senders were selected because of their innovative design, wide vehicle application coverage and easy-to-use configuration for custom car and truck enthusiasts, judges said. More than 70 products were submitted in the Hot Rod & Restoration Trade Show’s New Product Showcase and judged by a panel of shop owners and safety experts for awards consideration.

The VDO ALAS II Adjustable Fuel Sender is designed to simplify fuel tank installations by incorporating the draw and return tubes directly into the fuel sender, which eliminates the need to fabricate it into the tank. Each tube can be trimmed from a length of 6 inches to 16 inches, as needed to fit the individual tank. The tube also can be rotated a full 360 degrees for optimum installation angle. The new senders are ideal for late model applications and come as complete kits, which include standard 3/8 in. (10mm) draw and return tubes, a snap-tite pigtail and a low fuel warning switch, the company says.

The new ALAS II Senders are featured in the new VDO Auto Enthusiast Gauge and Accessories Online Catalog, www.vdo-gauges.com.
