Northwood’s 2012 International Auto Show Focuses On Optimum Ownership Experience In Vehicles

The show features more than 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus various exciting automotive aftermarket products.

MIDLAND, Mich. — The annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) features more than 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus various exciting automotive aftermarket products. The theme for this year’s largest outdoor new car Auto Show is “Driving the Dream.”

The event will be held the weekend of Oct. 5-7 on the Michigan Campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland. Show hours are Friday, Oct. 5, from noon-6 p.m.; Saturday, Octo. 6, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

NUIAS General Chair Patrick Faber said, “This year’s theme, ‘Driving the Dream,’ focuses on the idea that with each vehicle sold, the buyer has a “dream” for that particular vehicle. The theme also expresses each vehicle’s ability to provide a unique experience by a product that fulfills the expectations of its buyer. By displaying such a wide range of vehicles, it is possible to showcase many dreams, whether it is to drive an exotic sports car, obtain basic transportation or enjoy the use of recreational vehicles.”

With approximately 50,000 guests annually, the NUIAS is an event for the entire family, organizers say.

Vice Chair Dave Miller said, “Cars are an integral part of our lives that we depend upon every day. The show gives car buyers the opportunity to explore options that are perfect for them in a no-pressure situation, which provides a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.”

Throughout the three-day event, attendees indulge themselves in the vehicles of the future as well as reminisce with the vehicles of yesterday. The event, which includes a Classic Car Show on Sunday, Oct. 7, is organized and executed by the students of Northwood University.

The 2012 NUIAS will be featuring a variety of exciting vehicles. The newest products from manufacturers will be featured as well as brands like Fiat, which will appear at the auto show for the first time since its re-introduction to the North American automotive market.

Many exhibits will line the Mall Walk and offer a variety of food, information and entertainment. The Auto Show is free, offers free parking and is open to the public.
