AVENTURA, Fla. Five companies were presented awards by The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance during the Alliance’s 2011 Winter Meeting on Dec. 6 in Aventura, Fla.
WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, received the Outstanding Parts Master Vendor Award and was honored with two additional supplier awards for Outstanding Shipping Performance for both the WIX Filters and Parts Master product lines manufactured by WIX.
“These awards are a testament to the efforts of our people at WIX and their ability to engineer the best filtration technology, deliver industry-leading fill rates and provide world-class customer, marketing and sales support,” said Jeff Blocher, vice president of sales for WIX Filters, who accepted the awards on behalf of WIX along with Keith Wilson, president of Affinia Global Filtration Group.
The Outstanding Parts Master Vendor Award was presented to WIX by Fred Bunting, chairman of the board, Auto-Wares.
Federal-Mogul was selected as 2011 Vendor of the Year.
The 2011 award marks the fourth time since 2001 that Federal-Mogul has been honored as the top manufacturer serving the Alliance. This year’s award was based on Federal-Mogul’s exceptional performance in several key areas, including product availability, working capital reduction, customer support, training, marketing programs and field sales support.
The award was presented to Federal-Mogul executives by Eli Futerman, Alliance chairman and co-president and CEO of Hahn Automotive.
BBB Industries was recognized with two awards for its outstanding product fill rates and for outstanding service as a supplier of rotating electrical products. The first award that BBB received was for achieving a 95 percent fill rate. BBB, and 35 other vendors, were recognized for superior shipping performance for the full year.
The second honor, the Outstanding Customer Service award, is voted on by the Alliance group’s shareholders and recognizes the supplier that has embodied the professional service levels and commitment of an Alliance supplier. The award recognizes a vendor for exceptional quality, outstanding sales support, superior customer service and top-notch technical support.
SMP was recognized for its outstanding performance in the fill rate, logistics support and training support categories.
“I’d like to thank the Alliance shareholders for recognizing SMP’s achievement for the best fill rate, logistics support and training,” said Bob Kimbro, vice president distribution sales, SMP.
The Schaeffler Group USA Inc. was presented the inaugural Lone Star Award. The Schaeffler Group supplies LuK RepSet clutch kits, clutch hydraulics and flywheels to the more than 2,300 affiliated Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper parts stores across the U.S. and Canada.
The award, which was voted on by the Alliance Group headquarters, was presented by John Washbish, president and CEO of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, and Fotios Katsardis, president and CEO of Temot International, the largest shareholder in the Alliance Group and one of the largest automotive aftermarket program groups in Europe.
