02 Ford Explorer Electrical Issues

Q: I have been told that my GEM is bad. My alarm system will go off, inside lights flicker on, door ajar light comes on just prior to when all this takes place. Could this module be the cause and if so, where would it be located. A: Yes it could be the General Electronic

A customer has a 1999 ford explorer 4.0 sohc.he has bought a master pro wheel bearing and it has failed twice.? what could be causing this to fail.would there be something else wrong with the truck?

Incorrect spindle nut torque could cause repeated failures of a front hub assembly. This could be a result of under/overtightening of the spindle nut, damage or excessive wear on the CV joint spindle threads, or damage/wear/loss of torque from reusing the original spindle nut instead of replacing it with a new one.   Tom Dayton

i have a 2003 Dodge Dakota v6 2wd. It was listed at the dealer as having rear wheel ABS. I just finished a rear disc r&r and did not see any sensor rings. How does the ABS work or does it not have ABS at all?

The Dakotas have a single rear ABS sensor, which is mounted in the top of the differential housing.   Tom Dayton JS Auto Supply Jamestown, NY

I have a 00 mustang 3.8L with 215k miles, just did an overhual, runs great, but it’s smoking a lot. Its black smoke, i change fuel filter, checked injectors and fuel regulator and they are in good shape.

its still smoking a lot, what can be causing this? My dad owners his own shop, he has that sea foam injector cleaner and it helped but now its even worse.

Have a 2000 S10 new brake pads front, new shoes and drums rear also new master cylinder.

Have a 2000 S10 new brake pads front, new shoes and drums rear also new master cylinder. System has been bled twice and still pedal goes slowly to the floor. This was happening prior to the brake job also. I have pedal when the engine is off however once it cranks and you hit the brakes the pedal goes to the floor.

Here is a good one guys.

Here is a good one guys. 4cyl Volkswagen , for all diag purposes its a 1993 Passat 2.0 9A 16v. Starts up and runs without a problem, not under load, but there is a dead cylinder, #1, under all conditions. Fuel is 60# to the regulator, 3 bar reg. no vacuum leaks on any cylinder. Spark is good with the standard distributor setup, all 4 cylinders sparking strong. COlorTune in cylinder one confirms no fire but a strong spark. Using something such
as brake cleaner it will fire a couple cycles with a white flame(lean i
guess) and go dark again although the spark plug is wet so it is getting fuel. Timing is running about 25-30 degrees advanced at an idle and up to 35 under acceleration with no load. Valve timing is dead on. So the basics are all there, and three cylinders purr like a kitten, what are some other possibilities to look at?

AN ASE CERTIFIED FRIEND OF MINE AND I GOT INTO A DISCUSSION.

AN ASE CERTIFIED FRIEND OF MINE AND I GOT INTO A DISCUSSION. HE SWEARS UP AND DOWN THAT SYNTHETIC SHOULD OIL ONLY BE USED IN NEWER ENGINES POST 2000
AND THAT IF ONCE SYNTHETIC OIL IS USED IN AN ENGINE, IT MUST BE CONTINUED TO BE USED. I.E – ONCE YOU GO SYNTHETIC YOU CANT GO BACK? MY UNDERSTANDING IS
THAT YOU CAN USE SYNTHETIC OIL IN ANY ENGINE AS LONG AS IT HAS NO MAJOR LEAKS SUCH AS REAR MAINS, AND TIMING CHAIN COVERS NO MATTER WHAT YEAR THE
ENGINE IS- FOR EXAMPLE I HAVE A 1987 FORD RANGER STX WITH THE FUEL INJECTED 2.9l WITH 72,000 ORIGINAL MILES AND HAS NO MAJOR OIL LEAKS I CHOSE CONVENTIONAL SINCE THAT IS THE RECCOMENDED OIL WHILE I WAS TOLD THAT I CAN USE SYNTHETIC. WHAT IS THE CORRECT ANSWER?

2001 ISUZU TROOPER. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE HEADLIGHTS TURNING THEMSELFS ON WHILE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND PARKED.

No, I have never heard that. You may have a short or a problem with the twilight sensor. Matthew Vaughn O’Reilly Auto Parts

why does it suck so much working at parts stores?

I’ve been at this for 29 years and there is nothing better in my mind! Sounds like you’re young and haven’t had a lot of experience in the real world. If you think your job sucks that much, you need to find something else you enjoy and pursue that. If you look at your job
